A Goshiwon is usually created for students to concentrate on their studies. The goshiwon I am staying at is also used by foreigners. The monthly prices go from 200.000 to 500.000 Won.
A goshiwon is a building with multiple floors, often there are men and women only floors. On every floor you will find little rooms (not bigger than 10m², they would be much more expensive) with a glass cabin with a shower and a toilet in it, a kitchen with all kitchen utensils, a laundry machine and a safe. Usually a laundry dryer is also available but you have to pay 500 Won to use it.
Several goshiwons also have the option to book a room without a shower cabin and have a public bath room to use instead.
But every room would be equipped with a shelf, a closet, a bed, a desk and a fridge as well as free wlan (most will also have a lan cable). Some goshiwons will provide all bedding but you should ask beforehand. In all goshiwons I saw so far you get free drinking water, coffee, tea, rice, ramen and of course kimchi.
Be warned the cheaper the goshiwon the dirtier and old it is. So be prepared to clean and maybe talk to the manager if something really bothers you.
I did not get the room I booked so I will move to another room end of September.
But this is how the room I am living in now looked like when I arrived:
